About Us
Bandipora Weavers Producer Company was established under the aegis of the Jhelum & Tawi Flood Recovery Project (JTFRP) of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, funded by the World Bank, and supported by Rangsutra Crafts India Limited. The end-to-end cluster development project aimed to restore and strengthen livelihoods of artisans affected by the natural disaster in the form of floods that affected the region in 2014. Going beyond this, it sought to build on local resources and skills to strengthen the resilience and coping capacity of communities. Registered in 2021, the Producer Company seeks to provide work round the year to its artisan members. It does this by combining traditional craft skills with contemporary sensibilities, to make products for the local, urban and global consumer.
Our Mission
Set up and run a sustainable Producer Company, through which the weavers of Bandipora have the
opportunity to not only access regular work but also an opportunity to become co – owners in the
company and take responsibility in the running of the business.
